HWY 401 Expansion

A $639.8-million highway expansion with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Infrastructure Ontario (IO).

The Highway 401 Expansion involves the widening and reconstruction of approximately 18 km of Highway 401 in the western Greater Toronto Area (GTA), from east of the Credit River in Mississauga to west of Regional Road 25 in Milton.

The expansion will also involve modifications to existing infrastructure to accommodate the proposed widening, including nine new, replaced or widened bridges, five bridge rehabilitations, retaining wall rehabilitation and seven culvert replacements, extensions or rehabilitations.
